Benefits

QinetiQ North America offers a wealth of benefits that our employees can choose from to fit their lifestyle. Employees become eligible for our benefit programs on the first day of the month following or coincident with their start date.
We are always reviewing our benefit options, to be sure we’re offering the most complete and competitive package. Although they vary slightly by location, we are sure our benefits package will meet your personal needs. Complete and current descriptions will be provided upon hire.
Eligible Dependents
Employees may enroll dependents, including spouse or domestic partner and children (employee’s children, spouse’s children, or domestic partner’s children) up to the age of 26 in our medical, dental and vision plans.
Medical
QinetiQ North America pays a significant portion of the employee’s medical insurance premium, and offers several Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans through Anthem BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS). The Anthem BCBS plans offer an extensive network of providers, hospitals and facilities to meet employees’ healthcare needs. Our people who work in California may elect coverage under a Kaiser Health Management Organization (HMO). Those residing in Hawaii may elect coverage through HMSA HMO. All of our medical insurance options include some coverage for medical and pharmacy services.
Dental
We offer two dental benefit options through Delta Dental, a standard and an enhanced plan, and pay a portion of the employee’s premium. The Enhanced Plan provides lower deductibles, a higher benefit maximum, with orthodontia coverage for both children and adults. Both options pay 100 percent toward preventive and diagnostic care if using an in-network provider. The costs of preventive and diagnostic services are not counted against annual plan maximums, leaving participants with more benefit funds to apply toward restorative work.
Vision
Our vision plan is administered by VSP. Coverage includes benefits for eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses each calendar year. Participants can also receive discounts on laser vision correction.
Life Insurance
QinetiQ North America provides employees basic life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Employees may also purchase supplemental life insurance and AD&D with a generous benefit maximum, for themselves, their spouse and/or their children.
Disability Insurance
Short- and long-term disability insurance help you maintain your income if an illness, injury, or disability takes you away from your work for an extended period of time. QinetiQ North America provides both forms of disability insurance. Employees may also purchase additional long-term disability coverage.
401(k) Plan
QinetiQ North America’s 401(k) plan is managed by ING which offers a variety of funds to meet your retirement savings goals. Our plan provides a company match and potential discretionary employer plan contributions—our company match is fully vested after two years. The 401(k) plan includes a Roth IRA option as well as tools developed by our financial advisors at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC., to help you choose the right combination of funds for you.
Flexible Spending Plan
American Benefits Group manages our pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for medical and dependent care, as well as other FSAs for public transportation and parking. By participating in an FSA, employees can reduce the Federal and State taxes they pay.
Education Assistance
Career development and professional skills are important to QinetiQ North America. We support employee participation in professional seminars and continuing education programs that help keep our people at the cutting edge. QinetiQ North America also offers a Tuition Reimbursement Program, which helps employees earn degrees and qualifications that can help them advance their careers. Certain restrictions and qualifications apply.
Paid Time Off and Holidays
QinetiQ North America’s employees receive ten paid holidays annually, and a generous paid time-off (PTO) benefit. Each pay period employees accrue PTO for vacation, sick leave or personal days. Additional paid leave programs for bereavement, jury duty and military leave are also provided.
Other Benefits
QinetiQ North America offers various other benefits, notably including our confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which employees and their dependents may use to discuss personal, legal, and financial issues with licensed professionals. We also offer flexible hours; various discount programs; and a new hire referral program that rewards you for helping recruit other highly qualified employees to our team.
