Human Factors
One aspect of successful product or process launch is fine-tuning the technology for
human factors and human performance so it is safe, easy and efficient to use. QinetiQ North America uses a variety of research methods, data collection techniques, and statistical analyses to increase safety and advance human-centered technologies.
We study human factors and human performance, including operator workload, stress, and fatigue in fast-paced environments. Problem areas are identified, and recommendations on reducing workload and coping with occupational fatigue and stress due to work schedules are developed. Qualitative research techniques such as focus groups and structured interviews supplement quantitative data analysis. QinetiQ North America can also develop training and educational materials to help employees effectively manage their work and personal time to minimize fatigue.
We evaluate training programs to assure materials and approaches are consistent with the educational levels and aptitudes of trainees. We also help formulate training objectives, develop test designs, and perform instructional needs assessments. QinetiQ North America also makes recommendations to improve the safety of working conditions in office or industrial settings. This includes task analysis, injury and accident analysis, risk assessment, and work redesign strategies.
