Gunshot Localization System

Ground forces in operational urban and rural environments are faced with the continuous threat of assymetric attack. To reduce potential casualties, they need immediate situational awareness capabilities (local threat alert and location). During firefights in Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) and in rural environments both mounted and dismounted war fighters have difficulties localizing the source (direction and distance) of enemy fire.

Even in complex acoustic environments, the Ears- Gunshot Localization System gives soldiers the ability to rapidly acquire a highly accurate bearing/distance and absolute position of snipers or other combatants firing upon them. The system is small, rugged and lightweight, in-theater and operationally proven. Ears’ acoustic targeting system supplies threat localization and targeting for enhanced fire control and maneuvering.
